OUR BELIEF
The bible is the Word of God, a revelation from God to man, the sound rule of faith and conduct, and is superior to conscience and reason, but not contrary to reason. We believe according to His Word that the scriptures were written through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and we accept it as our infallible guide in matters pertaining to conduct and doctrine.
(2 Timothy 3:15-17, 1 Thessalonians 2:13, 2 Peter 1:21, 1 Peter 1:23-24, Hebrews 4:12)
Our God (Godhead) is one but manifested in three persons – The Father, Son and the Holy Spirit being co-equal. They are eternally self-existent, self-revealed and function as one entity. Jesus Christ, who is God, manifested in the flesh is the second member of the Godhead. He is co-equal and co-eternal with the Father and Holy Spirit.
(Philippians 2:6-7, John 1:1-4, 14)
Jesus Christ is the son of God and is the Word covered in flesh and has existed with the Father from the beginning.
(John1:1, John 1:18, John 1:14)
The Holy Spirit proceeds forth from both the Father and the Son and is eternal.
(John 15:26-27)
Salvation is the gift of God to man separate from works and the law and is made operative by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, producing works acceptable to God. The inward evidence to the believer of his salvation is the direct witness of the Spirit. The outward evidence to all men is a life of righteousness and true holiness “And this is his commandments that we believe in His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he commanded us.” Salvation is by faith in Jesus Christ not by human works, however, our works will determine our reward eternally.
(Ephesians 2:8, Romans 8:16, 1 John 3:23, Acts 16:3, Romans 10:9-10, Titus 3:5-7, Romans 14:10-12, 2 Corinthians 5:10)
Man is a created being, made in the image and likeness of God but through Adams transgression and fall, sin came into the world and man’s only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. On the cross Jesus became sin and sickness providing both salvation and divine healing for all mankind.
(Genesis 3:1-7, Romans 5:14, Romans 3:10, 23, 1 John 3:8)
Water baptism is by emersion, is a direct commandment by our Lord and is for believers only. The ordinance is a symbol of the believer’s identification with Christ in his death, burial and resurrection. Water baptism for the believer represents his or her burial and resurrection with Christ. When accompanied by true faith baptism is part of our rejection of sin and our commitment to Christ, resulting in a continual flow of grace and divine life to us.
(Romans 6:4, Colossians 2:12, Acts 8:36-39)
The baptism in the Holy Spirit is intended for all who profess faith in Christ, who have been born again and thereby have received the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
(Acts 1:5-8, John 14:16-17)
We believe in sanctification. The bible teaches that without holiness no man can see the Lord.
(Thessalonians 5:23)
We believe in the present supernatural ministry of the Holy Spirit, who bestows the spiritual gifts of wisdom, word of knowledge, faith, healing, working of miracles, prophecy, discerning of spirits, various kinds of tongues in and among believers on the earth since the day of Pentecost and continuing until our Lord’s return.
(1 Corinthians 12, John 16:7, John 13:15, Ephesians 4:8)
We believe in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
(1 Corinthians 15:4, Romans 6:4)
We believe in the coming of Jesus Christ/the rapture.
(1 Thessalonians 4:16-17)
We believe through the word of God that hell exists and there is eternal retribution.
(Hebrews 9:27, Revelation 19:20)
We believe heaven is real.
(Revelation 4:1-2)
